- The Parade of Princess Rose -
The day of her reintroduction finally came.
The streets of Balkara teemed with life as the parade began. Monsters of all shapes and sizes attended the event in hopes to see the beautiful princess in person. The procession exited from the mouth of the castle, would ring around the main streets of the city, and then come back into the grand open court of the castle, where the official ceremony would take place. The king is expected to give a speech, and after him, the princess.
During the parade procession, characters may interact, eat food at street vendors, purchase celebratory gifts, and enjoy the attractions the parade offers.
Do not be foolish! Armed guards vigilantly guard the royal family on the ground and float, and highly skilled snipers stand at the ready to stop fools who seek to harm them.
So relax, enjoy the parade, and do your best to cheer on the princess! Who knows, maybe she may just wave at you!

It had been many days since the princess had returned to her native home of Monstreial. She had awoke in Balkara Castle after being attacked by a Troll that was hiding in the Human realm. Though she wasn't sure what to do then, her Vampire and Werewolf parents did. Teaching her as much as they could about being a princess for the approaching ceremony that they had planned. The princess spent countless hours learning all she could and even managed to sneak in some social time with the five monsters that had saved her life from the troll. Now as she stood atop a floral pink and red and blue float wearing a form fitting and elegant bright blue dress on each side was her mother and father. They seemed ready to get the parade underway but the princess was uncomfortable and restless as she stood still.
She had never thought in a million years that she was anything more than a human and now here she was about to be shown to a whole world of monsters that she was their princess. There was still so much about this world that she didn't understand but even though that thought weighed heavy on her mind, she lifted her gaze as the castle gates opened bringing the roar of the crowd that had gathered. Her pale sapphire eyes wide at the sight of so many monsters that had come to see this grand event, it was breath-taking and frightening to this young woman.

Standing among the loud roaring crowd of onlookers as the gates of the castle opened. The giant was able to see further than those shorter than himself and as he looked about waiting for the parade to start. Vendors of all sorts were open all along with street, people of different species had come to see the lost princess who had returned. Having heard about the lost princess returning, the giant had traveled for many days to get to Balkara castle just to see the parade and hoped to see the princess. The sun was beating down on everyone, it was warm but very comfortable, Ice was glad to be a giant at a time like this.

K'Dan was in the front of the screaming crowd as the princess was unveiled from the castle gates. The troll gazed at the beautiful float and then the magnificent dress the princess was wearing and then he looked at the actual princess atop of the expensive items. "Wonder how much I could sell em'." K'Dan thought to himself as he dreamed of the money he could make off of stealing them. He waved at the float like many others in the crowd and had a pleasant smile on his face. The true reason why he came here was just because that events like these usually had really good food, but because of the reason of said really good food was taking a float ride across the city he decided to take a look anyway. K'Dan also seemed to notice the very tight security around the area, anyone that would even attempt to lay a finger on the princess would have their head on a chopping block the next morning. "Her head could catch a foine price as'well." K'Dan thought to himself "But, I know a suicide mission when I see one." It was true that K'Dan loved his money, but not any amount of money or items could make him risk trying to hurt royalty.

Hidden in the shadow of a near by building stood a lone figure. His eyes sharp as he scanned the area until his eyes fell upon the princess standing atop the beautifully decorated float. Rumor had reached his ears about the lost princess of Balkara Castle returning and the royal family holding a grand celebration for her return. From his experience of nobles having parties and celebrations something is likely to go wrong at some point or another. Yet he had seen so far that security was tight and there wasn't a fool alive that would dare to try anything. Not with so many soldiers ready to fight in order to protect the royal family. The vampire-mage thought it would be amusing to see what would happen at the celebration of the princess' return, though he couldn't deny the temptation he felt at causing some trouble while he was here.

Standing proud with his head high, chest puffed out and muscular arms crossed over his broad chest, King Daruis couldn't be happier for this day. After many days of teaching his daughter the ways of a princess along with his wife Queen Bella, the king was sure that Rose would welcome her role as princess. Even though Daruis was happy for this day, he kept a scowl firmly set on his face as he looked out at the crowd of citizens who had come to see the princess' reintroduction into their society.
Yet in the back of his mind the lingering thought that something might happen on this day only made the King worry for his daughter's safety. He had yet to teach her how to defend herself should she be attacked by others.

Ingrid and Ranmaru
Three hours ago…
The woman was beside herself, and certainly not in a good way. Having come from a culture of vehicles running on fossil fuels, Ingrid was not necessarily accustom to mount riding. She had opted to drive all the way from Valdim to Balkara (not wanting to miss out on the festivities) in a rented car, but she later found out why that was a bad idea.
Vehicles were incredibly unreliable on long stretches of road, and the craft itself was almost always rickety and uncomfortable. At one point during her journey she had imagined themselves eventually losing a tire, and lo and behold, it actually happened. As the tire spiraled off of the metal beam holding it, Ingrid braced herself for a horrible accident. At least the driver managed to stop on the side of the road.
"Ugh!" the woman exclaimed as she climbed out of the car. Her head steamed in irritation, "That's it! I've had it! I'm walking! Good bye!" She pulled a wallet from her purse and slapped some gold coins on the chair she had sat in, and started walking.
The driver got out of the taxi whilst scratching his head, "Ma'am, do ya' even know where you're goin'?"
His words fell on deaf ears as she kept up her pace. Surely there would be a sign somewhere telling her where to go.
She kept walking for a while. An hour passed and she saw no sign or indication of Balkara anywhere. She became anxious - wouldn't this castle be somewhat... fancy? A little showy and gaudy? Where the heck was it?
Eventually her eyes set upon a lumbering, black, and fuzzy mass along the road. It was a slow pace, unhurried and quite lazy. Hopefully whoever was riding it knew where s/he was going.
Ingrid hurried to the mount and started yelling, “E-excuse me! Sir or… or ma’am! Please tell me where I can find Balkara castle!”
The rider sat up and apparently started sniffing the air. He looked with a sharp gaze at Ingrid, and then alighted his mount with ease and stood completely straight like a human.
Ohhh, boy… he was a tall werewolf. Possibly the biggest werewolf she had ever seen. He was an intimidating one for sure.
“Balkara?” he said with a deep, yet gentle voice, “I’m heading that way, myself. Would you like a ride there?”
It was too friendly. Too suspicious. Ingrid cleared her throat and dug her sole in the ground, “I, um… I just want directions.”
The werewolf gave an understanding nod, “Very well. It’s three miles down the road you’ve been going. You probably can’t miss it if you keep going.”
Three miles? She can run at 25 miles an hour if she sprinted, but she didn’t want to show up all sweaty and… smelly. That would be unsightly and would make people around her very uncomfortable, not to mention she’d feel very self-conscious beside being completely exhausted. Suddenly, his offer for a ride became much more tantalizing.
“Al…” Ingrid said, she drew close to him, “Alright… I’ll bite for that offer to ride.” With a gentle blush, she added, “Just… just know that I’m prepared to knock your block off if you do anything stupid.”
The werewolf chuckled and nodded once more, “Of course. Let’s be on our way.” He moved closer to the large mammoth and knelt down, “Alright, miss. Grab onto Osamu’s hair and use my shoulder as a step stool. I’ll boost you enough to get up on top.”
Ingrid looked at him, to the mammoth, and then back. “Ah… erm… alright.” She came over and took hold of the mammoth’s shaggy fur, whilst stepping on the werewolf’s shoulder. With a gentle heave, she was on top of the mammoth. Clinging, sure, but as soon as she adjusted herself she sat with her legs tucked in. The top of the mammoth was surprisingly spacious, and she could move around a good deal before falling off.
With his large arms, the werewolf easily hopped onto the mammoth and tapped his foot on the mammoth’s side to signal it to move. When it started moving, Ingrid let out a little gasp, and then started giggling. Now she understood why mounts were preferred over vehicles.
During the course of their journey, Ingrid learned more of her driver. He was a mixed species, a werewolf giant, one that hailed from a mountain village. He was a kind and gentle person, aside from his physical appearance. Ranmaru Watanabe was his name, and he was heading to Balkara because of the parade. He spoke of an occasion where he had actually met the princess, and looked forward to seeing her christened as such before the people of Monstreial.
“It was an odd thing,” said Ranmaru with a rather bashful expression, “She was very simple and considerate. I would have passed her off as any other… but there was this… regality of standing in her presence. She wouldn’t know it herself… but she can command attention well.”
“You mean your attention, Ranmaru?” Ingrid chuckled as she nibbled on a dried piece of fruit.
“No, no, don’t be silly,” the werewolf waved his hand in the air with his ears tucked downward, “She has a natural talent. Just you see.”
To the present…
The parade’s procession had already begun. Mounts were forbidden from using the main streets, so Ranmaru had Osamu placed in a stable for the time being. As it was, the amount of people here would make it very difficult to see what was going on, so Ingrid made a very unusual request for the werewolf.
“Lift me up, please! I want to see everything!”
With a gentle nod, the werewolf hoisted the woman onto his shoulder. Yes, indeed! Ingrid had a completely unhindered view of the whole parade!
“Wow!” the woman exclaimed as she saw the plethora of monsters crowding around, “This is very impressive! I say! The royal family can really put on a good show!”
Ranmaru laughed as he followed along with the floats, “Yes, of course. We should be seeing the princess soon.”
There were a good number of giants attending the event, but they were nicely spread out so that they did not stand in each other’s way.
ooc: went a little crazy. hope you guys don't mind. ufufu!

Her head held high with pride that her daughter was now being shown to the world of Monstreial as their princess. Her heart was full of hope and pride that her daughter would greatly be accepted by all. Her dark eyes glanced at the young woman beside her and saw how surprised she was.
"There is nothing to be worried about Rose. These monsters have come here to celebrate your return." Bella said with a beaming smile.
The parade started to move at a slow pace. Facing the crowd yet again, the queen held up her hand and slowly waved to her people. This was going to be a very eventful day.

Though the princess knew she had nothing to worry about she couldn't help but feel nervous with all these eyes on her. She had never really been the center of attention until now, this was a whole new level of nervous for her. With a deep breath, Rose did her best to calm her nervous and heart beat. It felt as if her heart was going to burst from her chest at any moment.
As she looked at all the faces in the crowd, children and men and women of all ages were all waving and smiling at her. But it was the sight of a familiar face that drew her attention. From the corner of her eye, the princess saw the giant wolf that had helped once before after her mount, Chaos; the Nyx had tossed her into some water. With a bright smile she waved at him, happy to see a familiar face. She noticed that the giant wolf had a woman upon his shoulders and smiled and waved at her as well. It was good to see a familiar face and new ones.

Ingrid and Ranmaru
"Ho?" Ingrid placed a hand on her mouth as the princess waved to them, and then started waving her arm wildly, "Oh, my! She's waving this way!" The crowd around them grew ecstatic as well and waved back, considering that they were also in that area.
"Ah, there she is," Ranmaru grinned and waved his right arm, "She's beautiful. Didn't I tell you that she can easily command attention?"
"But this is a parade for her, you silly fellow," Ingrid laughed as she put her arm down, "She's the star of the show, she doesn't need to command attention. I think the one who commands attention is you."
"That's not true," the wolf giant huffed, he kept waving regardless, "I mean, yes, I stand out, but that's not..."
"Pfft, stop, dear. You just shot yourself in the foot by affirming that you 'stand out'."
"Fine, fine." He followed a safe distance alongside the princess' float, however Ingrid hopped off his shoulder. "Where are you going?"
The woman pointed to a drink stand on a street corner, "There. I'm going to get something to drink. Don't worry about me finding you again. You stick out like a sore thumb, hehehe..." With that, Ingrid disappeared through the crowds and made her way to the corner.
Ingrid separates from Ranmaru
"I'll have some water," she said to the seller.
This was a brief respite. Being in the clamoring crowd was a bit much, and Ingrid never liked being in them. She felt lucky to have met the werewolf giant, although that mixed species title was a bit of a mouthful.
She kept her eye on Ranmaru, who was now a little ways off from where she stood.
